ABOUT CONFIGURATION EDITOR

The Configuration Editor is a powerful utility that allows system administrators to configure the M3 system over the library network. This tool visually displays M3 components, such as servers, databases, tables, and library sites for configuration. The Configuration Editor allows administrators to add, remove, or modify these components.

The Configuration Editor can be used to enhance or restrict access to servers, databases, and tables at the network  or site level. Tables can be configured  using multiple servers for optimum efficiency.

Additional configuration includes:

•     Boolean operator translations and descriptions
•     Attribute list (the list of all searchable fields) used to define and restrict end user searches
•     Search configuration defines the search window configuration including Boolean operators,  attributes,  and search types
•     Organization list (library organizations  and their subdivisions) as per Z39.50 standards
•     Registry Service for system maintenance
