Cataloging Tools
Bibliographic and patron records can be
imported into M5 in MARC, delimited, and
fixed-width formats. During import, you can
select the records, fields, and subfields to
import, specify how fields are displayed,
check for duplicate records, generate
holding records, and create barcodes. After
the import is complete, an import summary
is created that includes the duration of the
import session, the number of records in
the import file, the number of records
imported successfully, any duplicate
barcodes, and the barcode creation
summary.

M5 displays patron, item, and transaction
information in a split screen visible during
loan, return, renewal, reserve, booking, or
status functions. To optimize your
workflow, you can customize the data that
displays for patrons and items. You can also
display patron photos and item images such
as book jackets.
Circulation’s one-click functionality means
shorter lines and fewer personnel at the
front desk. Enable Self-Check or Self-Return
and expand your patron offerings without
impact on library staff.
Other useful features include fast multiple-
item batch returns, hourly loan capability,
special reserve collection management,
backdating check-in and override
capabilities, calendar for scheduling fixed
and repeated closed days, and the ability to
set patron and staff circulation rights and
authorization levels.
Circulation Reports
Circulation provides transaction reports to
monitor library status and activity. Reports
include loans, fines, holds, reserves,
bookings, overdue loans, or all transactions.
